Opera House In Barcelona Holds Concert With Plants As Audience (Watch Video)

The Teatre del Liceu opera house in Barcelona held an exceptional concert on 22nd June, 2020 as some lockdown restrictions were lifted. The exceptional difference was that the audience consisted entirely of potted plants!

The concept was brought to life by artist Eugenio Ampudia. Potted plants filled the 2292 seats in the auditorium and the performance of Puccini’s “Crisantemi” was live streamed via the opera house’s YouTube account.

In a statement, the Opera House stated it “welcomes and leads a highly symbolic act that defends the value of art, music and nature as a letter of introduction to our return to activity.”
